The Last Doggy Pool Parties of Summer

As we watch Summer fade into Fall this week, at least on the calendar, it's fun to remember how much dogs enjoy some of the things that we love.  It's nice to cool off in a swimming pool if one is available.

Remember, that not all dogs know how to swim so don't just throw hm in and don't leave him unattended by the pool.

Our friends at HooplaHa have shared yet another wonderful video. This one is chock full of doggy antics, fun in the sun, and swimming pools.  Enjoy!

I'm SO jealous! It's been forever since I've been in a pool! Lucky dogs!

My Sandy loves splashing through rain puddles. Does that count?

Private swimming pools are uncommom in the UK and it was years before we realised that Midge could swim. We used to take him to the coast and he would wet his toes in the edge of the sea, but nothing more than that......maybe he was put off by the incoming waves.
We live near a narrow part of the River Thames, where there are little bays and the water is shallow.....a popular spot with dogs out for exercise. One day there were several dogs frolicking in the water, some playing fetch. Initially, Midge stood in the edge watching them, but very soon decided to join them and started to swim......wonderful to see.
Loved the video, Darlene. Very enjoyable to see those dogs having such fun. Long may they continue to do so.

I'm jealous, too, Lisette! I never got to the beach this year, let alone a pool!

You're right, Veronique, it is adorable. It makes me smile just looking at them!

Yes, James, rain puddles count as long as the dog is having fun!

Gordon, your Midge was obviously an excellent observational learner. I'm glad she had the opportunity to enjoy the water along with the other dogs! Thank you for sharing that wonderful memory!

What a fun, cute video, Darlene. In our city, the public pools open their gates for a dog swim day before they close them for the winter. Any one can take their dog to swim on that day. Many private pools also have doggie swim parties before those pools are closed. This is always a fun and enjoyable news event for summer's end. Thanks for sharing this delightful video with your readers.

Thank you for sharing that with us, Rescuegal. It's nice to know that there are such events, although I'm sure the dogs would enjoy it during the entire summer. That would only be possible if their owners had a pool in the backyard.
