Wow! Those statistics are scary, BUT, I wonder how many bites are actually the fault of the dogs? Lack of training and allowing young children to maul dogs, could well be responsible for a lot of them.

Thank you for your comment/question. I wonder the same thing. So many children are not supervised around dogs and so many adults don't understand how to approach dogs or read their body language. Preventing bites through education is the best we can do right now.
