If you know me, you know that I don't drink, nor do I particularly like drunks. I have no problem with social drinking and used to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner before it began triggering migraines. Red wine, white wine, champagne, it make no difference.
One thing I don't think any of us should tolerate is a drunk driver. To that extent, Budweiser, the beer company known for its wonderful holiday commercials featuring their gorgeous Clydesdale horses never fail to tug at the heartstrings. Their ad agency hits the target every single time and many of us who have never even tasted beer eagerly await their commercials.
Budweiser has recently launched a campaign against drunk driving. It stands to reason that they want to keep their customers alive. This ad, like their others, truly tugs at the heartstrings but just when you're reaching for a tissue, it continues. Rather than give away the entire "story," here is the video.

True, another great Budweiser commercial. I am glad to see them taking this responsible stand against drunk driving. I do have a suggestion for future commercials, however. Leaving the dog unattended all night is not a responsible pet "parent". Having a neighbor or friend come in and attend to the dog and have them explain why his master was not home would show the pet "parent" as being responsible for his animal and his drinking. Just my humble opinion.
You've made an excellent point, Rescuegal and one that I hope Budweiser and their advertising agency will read and take to heart. I didn't like the idea of the dog being home alone and didn't know if someone else was in the house but he was only interested in his guy. So many dogs react that way when the owner goes off to work. Thank you for a very important comment.
I don't drink Budweiser....the occasional glass of wine is my preference......but I do love their commercials and am glad that they have a responsible attitude towards driving whilst drunk. I very much agree with Rescuegal's comment concerning leaving a dog alone all night. I'm sure that a real dog lover would not do this. Hopefully Budweiser will make a point of mentioning this in futeure ads.
Thank you, Gordon, for your thoughtful comments.
There's drinking like there's no tomorrow, and there's drinking responsibly. Now, if only people followed "if you drink, don't drive", there'd be a reduction of pets longing for their owners. And more importantly, friends and family longing for their loved ones. Thanks for sharing!

We’ve seen different ads and reminders about drunk driving; and sadly, drunk driving is still prevalent nowadays. It’s good to know that even manufacturers are doing their part to inform people about responsible driving. I do hope more people get to watch this video, and be more responsible every time they're behind the wheel. Keep safe!

We have been reminded more than a million times about drunk driving. And despite all that, it is still an issue that lingers up until now. I hope this video reaches a lot of people, and the lessons in it be learned. Thank you for sharing this with us, Darlene. Have a great day!

Hi Roman,
I'm sorry for my late response. Very late!
Thank you for commenting. It's so true and I hope people will view this and take it to heart. People think they're immortal and what they do won't impact others. They're wrong.
Hi Kim,
I'm so sorry for such a late response.
I'm glad you liked the video. Drunk driving never stops being a problem. I really don't know what it will take to make them stop driving drunk. All I can do is post something that will make them think but I can't force them to watch it.
Thank you so much, Clifford, for commenting. This issue never goes away, no matter how hard everyone tries to convince people not to drive drunk. It's terribly frustrating. I hope this video will help make a difference. Feel free to share.
