National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day!
This Saturday is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day. The American Association of Feline Practitoners (AAFP) is anxious to get this message out. I am, too. You know I've written about this before. Owners bring their dogs to the vet but forget that cats need to see their veterinarian every bit as much.

This is excellent advice and obviously very important for there to be a National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day. Cats are very different from dogs, but that does not mean they should not have a least annual vet check ups. As a cat and dog owner, I find it easier to take one of my cats for her vet checkup when I take one of my dogs. Then the other cat goes with the other dog for their checkups. This makes one trip work for the two species vet checkup and assures that both cat and dog are checked regularly.
I love the way you take one of each species to the vet when you go, Rescuegal! That's a great idea for multi-pet families. Thank you for sharing!
Such important information. When we had our dog Midge and 2 cats, we ensured that they had regular vet checks, including jabs and worming tablets etc. I wouldn't say that they enjoyed the visits, but do we enjoy visits to see our doctor? Not really.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us, Darlene. I will of course share it.
Thank you, Gordon, for your comments. You are obviously a responsible pet owner who ensured that both dog and cats were healthy and happy. There are some way to make those vet visits more pleasant for our companions. Watch for that in an upcoming post!
